ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation achieved
Following a rigorous five-day audit recently, The Automated Technology Group – the parent group of PSJ Fabrications – has achieved certification for both the ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) standards. Previously held by two group members – Igranic Power Systems and PSJ Fabrications – the scope of certification has now been extended to include Autotech Control Systems.
In a process carried out by SGS, one of the world’s leading UKAS-accredited certification providers, quality and environmental management systems were audited across all core business processes and locations within the group – the Silsoe headquarters; the Kings Norton facility; and the premises of PSJ Fabrications in Bedford – as well as at a customer site.
Commented Darryl Pearce, Group Quality Manager, “We are delighted to have achieved these important accreditations for the group as a whole. The ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications – which will last for three years, with interim surveillance audits every six months – will greatly assist in the pre-qualification process for prospective customers and may potentially help in diversifying our customer base through expansion into new sectors. Gaining ISO 9001 certification,” he continued, “not only shows our commitment to quality to clients and staff, but will also help to drive continual improvement in order to enhance customer satisfaction. The ISO 14001 certification proves our green credentials, demonstrating our pledge to reduce waste, minimise energy costs and provide a framework to allow the group to meet increasingly high customer expectations of corporate responsibility, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.”
