PSJ to supply plenum units to Jaguar Land Rover
Following the recent successful installation of a spray booth at Jaguar Land Rover’s Castle Bromwich site in partnership with project integrator, Dürr, PSJ Fabrications has landed another order to work with Dürr for the supply of plenum units to the same client.
The plenum units – located above paint booths to regulate airflow and ensure optimal paint application – will be supplied to Jaguar Land Rover’s brand-new Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) site in Ryton, near Coventry. The SVO business unit is responsible for creating a range of high-performance production models, high-end bespoke commissions and low-volume, luxury Limited Edition models for both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. Ryton’s unique facilities to create these ‘halo’ vehicles include a VIP customer commissioning suite for premium vehicle personalisation, Formula One-inspired workshops and a specialist paint studio.
The first car to roll out of the new SVO site will be the Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7, the fastest and most powerful production Jaguar to date. With just 250 models being available worldwide, each vehicle will begin life at the Castle Bromwich plant before being transferred to SVO for build completion by hand.
The supply of the plenum units is a key area of focus now for the PSJ Fabrications team, which is working in close partnership with the Dürr project leaders to ensure that the client will be totally satisfied with the installation. Engineering and planning are already in progress and delivery to site is scheduled for early in the New Year.
