The Automated Technology Group becomes part of Wood Group
The Automated Technology Group – the parent company of PSJ Fabrications – is delighted to announce that it has been acquired by Wood Group, a global leader in the provision of services to the oil & gas and power generation industries. With over 36,000 employees across 50 countries globally, Wood Group has an annual turnover of more than $7 billion.
The Automated Technology Group will operate within the Automation and Control business unit of Wood Group Mustang, which is a Wood Group business and headquartered in Houston, Texas. Andy Robinson will remain as CEO, still based at the headquarters in Silsoe, Bedfordshire, and supported by the same senior management team. There will be no change to the organisational structure, business locations, products or services of The Automated Technology Group for the foreseeable future.
“Wood Group Mustang’s global resources and diversified project experience will enable ATG to undertake larger projects and access key growth opportunities outside the UK, building upon our custom solutions for our clients,” commented Andy Robinson. “This will benefit ATG both as a systems integrator for automation projects (our Autotech brand) and as a supplier of low- and medium-voltage electrical switchgear and motor controls centres (our Igranic brand).”
The Directors of The Automated Technology Group believe that the combination of its expertise within the manufacturing sector and Wood Group Mustang’s strength in process automation creates an unrivalled force in industrial automation. In addition, the global footprint and impressive reputation of Wood Group will help The Automated Technology Group to grow its operations and further develop its portfolio of solutions. This will allow the business to offer an even brighter future to both existing and new clients.
