ATG showcases its expertise at Jaguar Land Rover’s innovation event

The Automated Technology Group at Jaguar Land Rover's ‘Manufacturing Innovation Challenge’ eventRepresentatives of The Automated Technology Group – the parent company of PSJ Fabrications – were recently invited to attend Jaguar Land Rover’s ‘Manufacturing Innovation Challenge’, held at the company’s Training Centre in Castle Bromwich. With a select number of invited suppliers in attendance, the two-day event was an opportunity for JLR employees to experience the latest technologies and ideas available from key suppliers and how these might have a positive impact on JLR’s innovation projects now and into the future.

The Automated Technology Group at Jaguar Land Rover's ‘Manufacturing Innovation Challenge’ event“The ATG team had a stand at the event,” explained Tom Hendon, Regional Sales Manager for ATG’s Controls division, “to highlight the services that we offer and, as the only systems integrator present, we received a high level of interest. Gareth Henry, one of our Simulation Engineers, gave a presentation on discrete event simulation, which was well received. All in all,” concluded Tom Hendon, “the event was a great opportunity to showcase our expertise and network with key people at JLR.”

The Automated Technology Group at Jaguar Land Rover's ‘Manufacturing Innovation Challenge’ eventTo add a little extra buzz, the ATG team ran a ‘safe cracker’ competition to win an iPad mini. Participants watched ATG’s 2-minute corporate video, which contained a clue to the four-digit code for a safe that was displayed on the stand. “Around 50 people entered the correct number and placed their details in the safe,” said Tom, “and the winner was then drawn out at random. The prize was won by Charlotte – an apprentice working at JLR’s engine plant – who, coincidentally, is working for John Riley, a former employee of ATG. Gareth Henry was delighted to present Charlotte with her iPad.”
